Assistant Planner
Location: London
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

Responsibilities of the Assistant Planner include:

• Helping to prepare and submit planning applications and supporting documents
• Carrying out planning research and reviewing national, regional and local policy
• Contributing to site appraisals, planning assessments and development proposals
• Producing reports, presentations, briefing notes and other materials for clients
• Tracking planning applications, appeals and other planning procedures
• Assisting senior colleagues with project management and client requirements

Skills and experience required for the Assistant Planner role:

• A degree and/or postgraduate qualification in Planning or a related discipline
• Some planning experience, gained in consultancy, local government or a similar setting
• Knowledge of the UK planning system and current planning policy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong research and analytical skills
• A keen eye for detail and good organisation
• The capacity to juggle competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Comfort working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• A proactive attitude and readiness to take ownership
• A genuine interest in the development industry and the commercial factors that shape planning decisions
