Job Description
Caretaker
£17 - £19 per hour.
40 hours, Monday to Friday.
Croydon, South London
It's based on one site which is a large commercial, warehouse and distribution centre.
Routine maintenance, minor installations, and general repairs to keep our client's building safe and functional.-
- Plumbing: Fix leaky taps, unclog sinks or toilets, and install basic bathroom or kitchen fixtures.
- Electrical: Replace lightbulbs, change switches or outlets, and install smoke alarms or doorbells (minor, non-certified work).
- Carpentry & Joinery: Repair or re-hang doors, fix cabinets, install shelving, and handle general wood repairs.
- Painting & Decorating: Touch up paint, paint walls and ceilings, fill cracks, and handle plaster patching or wallpaper repairs.
- General Upkeep: Clear gutters, assemble furniture, hang pictures, and manage basic indoor/outdoor maintenance.-
Skills & Requirements
- Practical Experience: Hands-on background in general building maintenance or multi-trade repair.
- Tool Proficiency: Ability to safely use hand and power tools (drills, saws, levels, etc.).
- Communication: Good customer service skills and the ability to log completed jobs or report major defects to a manager.
