About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and reliable CNC Operator to join a busy timber frame manufacturing team. Working in a modern production facility, you will operate CNC machinery to accurately cut and prepare timber components used in the construction of large timber frame buildings.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with CNC machining experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in producing high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC woodworking machinery to manufacture timber frame components.
  • Read and interpret production drawings, cutting lists, and technical specifications.
  • Load timber materials and monitor machining operations.
  • Carry out quality checks to ensure components meet required tolerances and specifications.
  • Adjust machine settings where necessary to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and report any faults or breakdowns.
  • Work closely with the production team to meet daily production targets.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures at all times.

Requirements

  • Previous experience operating CNC machinery (woodworking experience preferred but not essential).
  • Ability to read technical drawings and production plans.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Good problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience within timber frame, joinery, or woodworking manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of CNC programming or machine setup.
  • Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential).
