Job Opportunity: Passive Fire Stopper (Batt & Mastic)
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Pay Rate: -200.00 per day (CIS) + Weekend Uplifts
Hours: Full-time (Monday - Friday) for initial 3 weeks, followed by Weekend-Only shifts
Duration: 3 weeks full-time + ongoing weekend shifts

Search Consultancy is recruiting a skilled Fire Stopper for a high-profile commercial project in Newcastle upon Tyne. Paying a top day rate of -200.00 per day (CIS) for weekday shifts, this straightforward contract offers an immediate 3-week full-time block, transitioning directly into ongoing weekend work with enhanced rate uplifts.

Your Role & Responsibilities
Working on a live commercial site, your focus will be dedicated exclusively to standard penetration and cavity sealing using batt and mastic systems:
Batt & Mastic Installation: Cutting, fitting, and sealing high-density coated fire batt around service penetrations across walls, floors, and soffits.
Mastic Sealing: Applying fire-rated in tumescent and acoustic mastic to linear joints, movement gaps, and around batt edges strictly to manufacturer specifications.
Clean & Compliant Application: Delivering neat, fully compliant, and airtight seals that satisfy building control and site inspection standards.
Documentation: Assisting with simple digital QA logging, pin-pointing, or tagging of completed fire-stopped seals where required by site management.
Efficient Execution: Working independently to cover work areas quickly while keeping workspace clean and tidy.
What We're Looking For
To satisfy site compliance rules and fire safety standards, applicants must possess:
CSCS Card: A valid Blue or Gold CSCS Card (NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection preferred) is strictly mandatory.
Trade Background: Proven, hands-on experience focused specifically on batt and mastic fire stopping installations.
Tools & Kit: Full applicator kit (mastic guns, battery tools, serrated insulation knives, measuring kit) and standard 5-point PPE.
Transport: Reliable transport to access site locations in Newcastle upon Tyne daily and on weekends.
Right to Work: Valid proof of right to work in the UK.
