HGV TECHNICIAN

Peterborough | Up to £21.00 per hour DOE

Description

We are recruiting an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established, family-run commercial vehicle business offering excellent job security, a supportive team and genuine career progression. Immediate start available.

Salary: Up to £21.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Working Hours:

• Monday-Friday: 08:00-18:30

• Alternate Saturdays: 08:00-12:30

The HGV Technician Role

• Service, maintain and repair HGVs and commercial vehicles.

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.

• Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve faults.

• Carry out safety inspections and prepare vehicles for MOT.

• Complete workshop documentation and follow Health & Safety procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' HGV or commercial vehicle experience.

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, or equivalent time-served experience.

• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.

• Full UK driving licence.

• Reliable, professional and able to work independently or as part of a team.

• Suitable employment references must be verified before interview.

• Class 1 or Class 2 licence desirable, not essential.
