Freelance Site Supervisor
Location: South West England
Duration: Initial contract through to May/June, with further opportunities available
Start Date: End of August / Early September
Rate: £(Apply online only)/Day - CIS

We're currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Supervisor to join a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a programme of highways and infrastructure works across the South West.

This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term freelance contract, with an initial highways scheme commencing in early September and a clear pipeline of work extending into next summer. There may also be opportunities to support additional infrastructure and maintenance projects as the programme expands.

The Role

You'll be working as part of an experienced delivery team alongside a Site Agent and Site Engineer, overseeing site activities and supporting the safe and efficient delivery of highways improvement works.

andmiddot;Pedestrian crossing installations
andmiddot;Bus stop improvements
andmiddot;General highways and infrastructure works

Responsibilities

andmiddot;Supervising direct labour, subcontractors and site activities
andmiddot;Ensuring works are delivered safely and in line with the programme
andmiddot;Coordinating daily site operations and allocating resources
andmiddot;Delivering site briefings, toolbox talks and inductions
andmiddot;Monitoring health, safety, environmental and quality standards
andmiddot;Liaising with the Site Agent, Site Engineer and subcontractors
andmiddot;Maintaining accurate site records and daily reports
andmiddot;Supporting the management of materials, plant and deliveries
andmiddot;Identifying and reporting site issues, delays and risks

Requirements

andmiddot;Previous experience as a Site Supervisor on highways or civil engineering projects
andmiddot;Strong knowledge of site health and safety requirements
andmiddot;Experience supervising direct labour and subcontractors
andmiddot;SSSTS or SMSTS qualification
andmiddot;CSCS Card
andmiddot;First Aid qualification preferred
andmiddot;Good communication and organisational skills
andmiddot;Ability to work across multiple schemes when required
