Job Description
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading housing organisation for an experienced Neighbourhood Officer to join their team in Solihull on an initial 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional looking for a hybrid role with a varied caseload and the opportunity to make a positive difference to residents and local communities.

The Role:
As a Neighbourhood Officer, you will be responsible for managing a designated patch and delivering an effective tenancy and neighbourhood management service to residents.

Your responsibilities as a Neighbourhood Officer will include:
  • Managing a designated patch of general needs properties.
  • Providing effective day-to-day tenancy and neighbourhood management.
  • Managing tenancy-related enquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Investigating and managing low-level anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases.
  • Addressing tenancy breaches and taking appropriate action where required.
  • Carrying out tenancy visits, estate inspections and tenancy audits.
  • Managing complaints and responding to resident enquiries.
  • Supporting residents with tenancy sustainment and resolving issues at an early stage.
  • Liaising with internal teams, contractors and external agencies.
  • Identifying and reporting property, environmental and neighbourhood issues.
  • Maintaining accurate case records and progressing cases within agreed timescales.
  • Working in accordance with relevant housing legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Building positive relationships with residents and promoting well-managed, safe and sustainable neighbourhoods.
About You:
We are looking for an experienced Neighbourhood Officer, Housing Officer, Tenancy Officer or similar housing professional, ideally with experience within a local authority or housing association.

You will have:
  • Experience managing a housing patch.
  • Strong knowledge of tenancy and neighbourhood management.
  • Experience dealing with low-level ASB and tenancy breaches.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise effectively.
  • Experience working with vulnerable residents and partner agencies.
  • A proactive, professional and solution-focused approach.
  • Good knowledge of housing policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
