PRODUCTION LINE LEADER

£14.07 per hour during training | £15.27 per hour after successful completion of training

Location: Tonbridge, TN12 9LX

Hours: 6.30am start (shifts are between 10-12 hours)

Are you a confident team leader with a strong work ethic and experience in a fast-paced production environment?

We are currently looking for a Production Line Leader to join our team in Tonbridge, helping to ensure our production lines run safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

THE ROLE

You will be responsible for leading and motivating a team, achieving production targets and maintaining excellent standards of quality, food safety and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, motivate and support production staff, providing clear instructions and encouraging effective teamwork.
  • Lead by example with a positive, professional attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Manage production lines efficiently to achieve production targets and run rates.
  • Ensure the correct fruit, packaging, labels, weights, counts and customer specifications are followed.
  • Monitor product quality and report any issues or trends immediately.
  • Ensure production lines are correctly cleared, cleaned and set up before each job.
  • Work closely with Planning, Warehouse, Quality Control and Production Management.
  • Minimise waste, damage and unnecessary handling of fruit and packaging.
  • Ensure staff follow correct break times, productivity and working standards.
  • Maintain high standards of Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, GMP and hygiene.
  • Monitor compliance with PPE, hand washing, clothing and site safety procedures.
  • Report accidents, near misses, hazards, damage and equipment issues promptly.
  • Complete all required paperwork, production records and Prophet system updates accurately.
  • Ensure pallets, labels and production records are correct and legally compliant.
  • Support staff training, coaching and continuous improvement.
  • Provide cover for colleagues and remain flexible and supportive.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is physically fit and comfortable working in a demanding, fast-paced production environment.
  • Has fluent English for giving instructions, communicating with staff and completing records.
  • Has excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Is confident managing and motivating a team.
  • Can work under pressure and meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Has previous production, packhouse or supervisory experience (desirable).
  • Has own transport - essential due to the location.

PAY & SHIFT PATTERN

  • £14.07 per hour - training rate
  • £15.27 per hour - following successful completion of training
  • 4 days on / 3 days off OR 5 days on / 2 days off
  • Must be able to cover Mondays and Tuesdays
