Cover People are currently recruiting for a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Salford, starting in September 2026. This is a long-term, part-time position offering consistent work throughout the new academic year.
The RoleThe school is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistant to provide support across Key Stage 2, working closely with the class teacher to help pupils engage with their learning and make positive progress.
The successful candidate will start in September 2026 and must be able to commit consistently to the 2.5 days per week on a long-term basis.
Responsibilities- Supporting pupils across Key Stage 2
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required
- Assisting the class teacher with learning activities
- Supporting pupils with varying abilities and additional needs
- Promoting positive behaviour and engagement
- Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Previous experience working with primary-aged children is desirable
- Experience within Key Stage 2 would be advantageous
- A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
- Confident supporting pupils with their learning and behaviour
- Reliable, enthusiastic and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Available from September 2026 for 2.5 days per week
